It has been found that in most cases corrected rotor seating can be achieved if wheel nuts are
comprehensively tightened. As such if the vehicle needs to be moved it is advised that the wheel nuts
should be torqued to manufacture’s specification in the standard star pattern. It is also advised that this
process is repeated to ensure seating of the rotor.
| How do I know if I am affected? |
Go to our website and check the order number on your suspension against the database, follow the prompts from there. |
| Is it safe to drive my van? How far can I drive |
If you have checked the website and your vehicle is not affected, yes it is safe to drive your van. If you check the website and it is affected you need to register the claim and follow the instructions. Essentially to make the van safe to drive in the short term, you need to check and retighten the wheel nuts as per the instructions. |
| To what torque should I tighten my wheel nuts |
You should check with your vehicle or rim manufacturer (as marked). If no torque is specified we recommend 140Nm. If you don’t have a torque wrench we suggest you obtain one to ensure accurate tightness and safety. |
| Will this cost me anything? |
Cruisemaster will cover the costs of the check and replace at no cost to you. |
| What do I do if there is no repairer near me? |
Where possible we want customers to use our National Service network providers. We do have the option for you to nominate your own repairer if you are based in a remote area or are not prepared to town your van significant distance. We want to minimise the disruption to our customers but using an unknown repairer may significantly delay getting the fix done, as we need to approve them to ensure the work is done to the standard we require. |
| What do I do if I am on holiday and currently travelling? |
We have a Significant National service network that covers remote areas as well as the main urban centres. You should be able to find one that lies along your route and you can book in with them and get the fix done. We have parts distributed to most main centres to minimize the time to get the part to these providers. |
| Are you replacing hubs? |
No Cruisemaster will not be replacing the wheel hubs. The replacement rotor alone will fix this issue. |
| Will this affect my braking safety ? |
No this will not affect braking safety. The issue is just the interface between wheel and hub. |
| Why do I need the recall sticker on my vehicle |
This is a government requirement and help us ensure we have done our due dilligence with regard to user safety. It also helps any subsequent inspector to know that the vehicle has been cleared. |
| If one wheel is affected , will they all be defective? |
Not necessarily. The parts can vary and the supply chain does not always guarantee parts that were made together end up on the same vehicle, hence all wheels need to be checked but not all will necessarily be affected. |
