The Cruisemaster™ Type 2 Bolt Kit is for use with G35, G40 and F41 shock absorbers as part of the Cruisemaster™ XT suspension system with dual shock configuration.

When replacing shock absorbers on your Cruisemaster™ XT suspension system it is important to ensure the bolts are still in good condition and nylocs are replaced.

This handy kit provides the bolts, nylocs and spacers required for changing over dual configuration shock absorbers on your XT (tandem axles will require 2 kits).

Includes;

4 x 60-B-M12x140-10.9
4 x 60-N-M12NYL
4 x 33B-048

*Spacer may not be required for all builds (2020 shock mount was changed to include fixed spacer)

Please note kit is only for use with XT suspension systems

Single shock XT systems require a Type 1 Kit

refer to maintenance instructions for correct installation guidelines including torque requirements.

I purchased these as I have had two bolts break at the start of the thread. I am hoping these will be better as it has been the top bolt and results in the shock being damaged.

One thing that is critical if you are going to do a shock replacement is to purchase new mounting bolt and spacer kits ( 33C-016-10.9-W-SPACER) and to torque them to the specified 120NM torque. I found the old bolts were grade 8.8 not 10.9 like the new ones , the new bolts have a very slight shoulder behind the tread improving the fit in the brackets , and the intermediate spacer provided is much heavier wall than the early spacer. In short the connection bolt has been redesigned to allow for the tensioning process which should eliminate future bolt stress fatigue. The old bolts were showing signs of wear at all contact points and were definitely due for a change. I don't think they would have survived the retorque either.
If your going to do a shock replacement get the new bolts and spacers, and ensure they are torqued. The torque of 120Nm is a very high torque- you may need a large bar or extension to get it under the van.
Also I found seven of the eight mounting bolts were loose. Tightening the shock mounting bolts had never been on my previous list for servicing the van. And it has also been serviced recently, professionally , and the bolts were still loose. So it is well worth crawling under there and having a look even if you are not intending to replace the shocks. If your bolts are loose and have been chewed up at the supports buy new bolts.

The price was excellent and even the shipping cost were good, but the speed of delivery was unbelievable...very impressed! These were only purchased as spares, ready for an upcoming trip to Cape York later this year, and will compliment the 2 spare shockers we'll be carrying as well. Thank you for your excellent service...happy new year to al your staff!
